Are you passionate about a role where people come first?

Would you be excited to work as part of a system that allows you to focus on vet-only tasks while a brilliant support team handles the rest?

If so, read on!

About the Role

At Roundwood Vets, we believe pets and people should thrive. We are an independent, cooperatively-owned practice delivering sustainable, modern care that improves the lives of pets and their families – including our veterinary team. Our supportive environment focuses on allowing vets to concentrate on what they do best, with 30-minute appointments, excellent training and equipment, support, plenty of breaks, and a people-focused culture.

We are reimagining how veterinary care is delivered by more effectively dividing tasks across our team. As a vet here, you'll primarily handle diagnosing, case planning, prescribing, and surgery/dentistry, leaving everything else to our skilled nurses and support team.

The 'Big 3' Responsibilities

We are looking first and foremost for someone who can:

1. Identify pet health problems or wellness actions effectively.

2. Communicate the issue and the plan to solve the problem.

3. Deliver the solution using the whole team to do so.

We are looking for a full-time vet (RCVS registered), ideally for five 8-hour shifts each week, but we can work with four longer shifts if this suits. You’ll also work a Saturday morning (8:30am-12:30pm) every third weekend. There is no on call commitment.

The Challenge Ahead

We’re evolving how we work. Over the next six months, we’re implementing new systems that empower our team to work more efficiently, giving you greater autonomy and job satisfaction. We’re looking for an action oriented vet to help bring this new way of working to life. If you’re ready to be a part of this exciting transition, you could be a great fit!

About Us

Roundwood Vets is an independent practice in North West London that blends old-fashioned client care with modern healthcare delivery. We are a place where pets live well and humans thrive! We pride ourselves on creating a culture where our team members and our clients are treated with respect, integrity, and kindness. Our practice operates on a cooperative model, giving our team a say in the practice’s direction and sharing profits with those who contribute to our success.

Our mission is simple: extend and improve the lives of pets and their people, while fostering a workplace where culture matters. Honesty, kindness, conscientiousness, teamwork, fun, and growth are not just words on a wall here; they are the foundation of everything we do.

Here’s what the current job holder Dr Seb says about us:

“I truly enjoyed working here, and leaving has been one of the toughest decisions of my career. I've grown so much alongside the team and management, who genuinely invest in their employees' development. The structure here allows for continuous growth, both personally and professionally, with regular check-ins that focus on your well-being and opportunities to improve. What sets this place apart is how team feedback is not only encouraged but actually acted upon. I've even recommended it to friends because it's a great environment, especially for those looking to escape late nights, unfulfilled promises, and overwhelming workloads.

It’s rare to find an environment where you’re genuinely supported as a person, with a clear development plan that is regularly followed up on. One thing I loved is how they prioritise work-life balance—if you try to stay late, they’ll push you out of the clinic! The time you have is structured not just to get the job done, but to do it well, in the way you envisioned when you first graduated: talking to people, helping them understand, and truly caring for animals. Over time, I grew alongside the clients, and many became more like friends. What stands out most is the honesty here—no empty promises. You know exactly what you’re getting, and it’s a genuinely good place to work."
