About Our Charity Partner
Who are Woodgreen?
At the heart of Woodgreen’s mission is its aim to stop pets from ever becoming homeless.
With pet abandonments at a shocking three-year high, Woodgreen works tirelessly to provide safe sheltered, specialist care, and a brighter future for thousands of pets.
They also provide owners with advice and support in every step of the ownership journey, to help prevent, and spot signs that a pet may be at risk of being abandoned.
Help pets like Kiara
Cold, wounded, and hungry. Kiara was found wandering the streets alone. At just 10 weeks old, she had already seen the worst of life.
Her tail and the tips of her ears were missing — most likely due to frostbite. Although, we couldn’t rule out a traumatic injury or even foul play.
Once brought into safety, she continued to show remarkable resilience. We gave her plenty of food, warmth and care, all of which she accepted enthusiastically. Despite her ordeal, Kiara was such a confident and sociable little fluff ball.
Soon enough Kiara bounced back – and straight into the heart of new owner Amy. We feel so lucky that Kiara was rescued before it was too late.

About the Day
What's the Plan?
Paws in the Park is here to help promote the well-being of both pet owners and their dogs while also raising money for a good cause in the local community.
We’ll meet for a 2km walk around Roundwood Park at 10:00am on Sunday the 15th September. There’ll be treats for all (not just dogs!) as well as prizes for best collar or lead, best behaved dog, best dog/owner lookalike, and more!
While there is no entry fee, we suggest an initial donation of £15. Every donation, no matter how small, will help a pet in need. Encourage your friends and family to contribute too.
All funds raised will go directly to Woodgreen Animal Shelter, helping them continue their incredible work in rehoming and caring for pets in need.
